Niagara College, widely regarded as one of Canada’s most innovative applied learning post-secondary institutions, has expanded its international reach through four satellite campuses located in Saudi Arabia. With a strategic focus on developing “world-ready and work-ready” graduates, the campuses specialize in delivering a number of diploma programs in the areas of Tourism, Event Management, Hospitality, Business, Occupational Health & Safety, Graphic Design, IT, and a Foundation Program for English language development.

Applications are invited for the position of Human Resources Officer, Niagara College KSA, Al Ahsa female campus. Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, the Human Resources Officer is responsible for comprehensive services to support the employees and to deal with day-to-day related tasks. These services include some recruitment logistics and onboarding, government relation matters, benefits and any other related duties. The Human Resources Officer must liaise with members of the HR team across campuses and with other campuses in coordination with the Manager of Human Resources, the Government Relations Officer and Campus Principals.

This position has a duration of 12 months, with possibility of renewal, and with an anticipated start date of as soon as possible. It is expected that the incumbent be flexible in terms of hours of work and maintain confidentiality, diplomacy and tact regarding internal and external relations.

The anticipated start date for this position is as soon as possible.

Skills

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Suggest improvements to NC KSA HR policies, procedures and projects with local expertise and ensure efficient implementation
  • Maintain awareness and knowledge of contemporary HR practices and provide suitable interpretation to employees within the campus
  • Assist in screening and filtering local and temporarily hired candidates; assist in the scheduling of local and online interviews, when required
  • Assist with preparing job offer drafts and pending offer lists along with Employment Agreements and riders
  • Assist in the mobilization and demobilization of NC KSA employees on the campus
  • Liaise with the Senior Officer, HR Manager and Finance Department to submit individual payroll, benefits and vacation entitlements
  • Ensure employees have NC KSA email accounts and health insurance; enroll the dependents of new employees for benefits and conduct orientation for new employees
  • Ensure employees database, HRIS and other spreadsheets and reports are updated on a daily basis
  • Liaise with the Senior Officer and HR Manager to prepare the medical insurance invoices to be processed by the Finance Department; assist employees in the processing of their medical claims and card replacements
  • Ensure that all Government Relations requests for all employees are processed on time and have been accurately tracked
  • Maintain accurate records of all government documentation for employees and ensure that they are renewed on time
  • Perform all duties required by GOSI, MoL, Muqeem and other government bodies, as required
  • Prepare Employment Certificates and other required letters; process clearance forms and final settlements

 

Required skills and qualifications, at a minimum, include:

  • As per Saudi Labor Law for positions within Human Resources, only Saudi Nationals will be considered
  • Three (3) years post-secondary diploma or degree in a related discipline from a recognized university
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in HR and business administration
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in both Arabic and English
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office programs and database applications. Preference will be given to those applicants who possess experience using HR systems
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date records
